Walter Gretzky threw out the open pitch last night at Arnold Anderson Stadium. For those of you that didn't know Wayne's dad used to be the president of the Brantford Red Sox and the each year the IBL hands out the Walter Gretzky trophy for the executive of the year.
Okay on to the game, not that it was much of one if you are Twins fan as the Red Sox had their way with them 15-4
Brantford scored seven runs in the bottom of the 1st inning off Twins starter John Solazzo He made it through just two innings, giving up eight runs of which seven of them unearned on just three hits. He walked three and struck out two.
Lee Delfino clubbed his third homer of the season and Josh McCurdy added two doubles for the Red Sox.
Former Kitchener Panther Graeme Copeland had two hits for the Twins.
Scott Robinson got his 2nd victory of the season for the Red Sox going five innings, allowing three runs on five hits with seven strikeouts and four walks.
Robert Ramsdale finished up, allowing one run on four hits with four strikeouts and one walk over four innings.
A bit of trivia : The Mississauga Twins weren't named the Twins after the MLB team they are called the Twins in honor of Twins owner Elliott Kerr's twin children.
