Saturday Round Up

Royals 12 Panthers 7

At Guelph the Royals built up a 9-0 lead through seven innings before the Panthers fought back to make it a 9-7 ball game in the 8th inning

The Royals staged a two out rally in the 8th to make it a 12-7 Final

Sean Reilly homered twice in the contest for the Royals. Meleti Melehes pitched six scoreless innings for the win. Dexter Souter notched the save after getting the last out in the 8th and working a 1,2,3 ninth inning.

Royals Manager Kevin Hinton was forced into duty today at 1B when Frankie Hare tweaked his back during batting practice. Hinton was showing definite signs of rust. I can't recall the exact date he last played first base or for that any position.

Baycats 8 Thunderbirds 2

Barrie jumped out to a 5-0 lead off Hamilton starter Mike Fortuna . Brad Bissell got the win.

Kyle Fillier had two doubles and drove in 3 runs.

Twins 8 Fat Cats 6

Twins Manager Scott Van de Valk picked up his first win his IBL debut spoiling the Fat Cats home opener. Judging by the facebook page the fans are outraged in Ottawa over not being able to drink in their seats. At least they can drink there and probably get a hot dog lol.

According to reports 3,724 fans took in the game this evening in our nation's capital. Congrats to the Fat Cats
